We all lost a special man
On the 20th April 1999
But to his friends and family
He will remain in our hearts for all time.

Tony Boyce was a lovely Man
Who's heart was full of Joy
But when he came to England
He was nothing more than a boy.

He had left his home in Ireland
like many had before
His parents dead and buried
He headed to a foreign shore.

The stories of the 60's, to me he often told
about a sign above a boarding house.
No blacks, No Irish or No dogs allowed.
So he was left alone in the cold.

But Tony was a proud Longford man,
and he got on with his life.
He drank in the pubs in Harlesden,
where he met his beautiful wife.

Rose and Tony were inseparable.
They were always side by side.
35 years together,
they were as close as the ocean with its tide.

He was always joking.
Sometimes he'd drive you round the bend.
But no matter where he went,
he would turn a stranger into a friend.

He raised a happy family
and we have a lovely home.
But I can't help but miss him,
and often feel alone.

He has gone to heaven
and left behind all the hype,
but you can be sure he's up there,
sucking on his pipe!

A lot of years have past by.
Since he left Longford as a lad.
He's buried now in Galway and all I have to say,
"I really miss my loving DAD"
